The Central Oregon Interpreter Conference, or COIC, is an annual learning opportunity created to support interpreters with practical, relevant, and community-centered professional development. Presented by English 2 Spanish, COIC was built from the belief that interpreters deserve meaningful spaces to learn, connect, and grow in their practice.
Interpreter Learing Lab
The Interpreter Learning Lab is an ongoing learning space created by English 2 Spanish, or E2S, to support interpreters with practical, relevant, and accessible professional development opportunities. Designed to complement larger events like COIC, the Learning Lab offers year-round training focused on real-world interpreting practice, skill-building, and continued growth. Our goal is to create learning opportunities that feel useful, approachable, and connected to the realities of interpreting work.

The Central Oregon Interpreter Conference, or COIC, is an annual learning opportunity created to support interpreters with practical, relevant, and community-centered professional development. Presented by English 2 Spanish, COIC was built from the belief that interpreters deserve meaningful spaces to learn, connect, and grow in their practice.
At E2S, we know interpreting can be deeply meaningful work, but it can also feel isolating. COIC was created to bring interpreters together around topics that matter in real-life settings, including healthcare, legal, community, ethics, note-taking, emerging tools, and the evolving role of interpreters in the field. Our goal is to create a conference experience that feels accessible, thoughtful, and grounded in the realities of the profession.
COIC is designed for interpreters across different settings and levels of experience. We aim to offer learning that is practical enough to apply right away, while also creating space for reflection, connection, and ongoing growth. Through local and statewide collaboration, expert speakers, and relevant continuing education opportunities, COIC helps strengthen the interpreter community in Central Oregon and beyond.
This conference is also part of E2S’s broader commitment to interpreter development. We believe quality services are strengthened when interpreters have opportunities to keep learning, build community, and stay engaged with the changes shaping the profession. COIC reflects that commitment by creating a space where interpreters can deepen their knowledge while feeling supported and valued.
