Our Story
Language has always been more than communication for us. It’s how we show up for our community.
¡Hola! I'm Elizabeth Sánchez.
I grew up between two worlds—born in Los Angeles and raised between Silverton, Oregon, and Jalisco, Mexico. For my family, language was never simply a way to communicate. It was the bridge to healthcare, education, essential services, and the ability to feel heard and understood.
I saw firsthand how language barriers could leave people feeling confused, overlooked, or unable to fully advocate for themselves. I also saw the difference it made when an interpreter understood more than the words—when they understood the culture, the circumstances, and the importance of the moment.
Those experiences stayed with me throughout my career. I worked as a staff interpreter, an independent contractor, and a language access coordinator for a large healthcare system, where I managed interpreter requests, vendors, and the many moving pieces required to provide reliable language access. Each role gave me a different perspective: the experience of the interpreter, the needs of the organization, and the impact language services have on the people receiving them.
My family’s story and my professional experience inspired me to create English 2 Spanish. I wanted to build a company that could do more than fill interpreter requests. I wanted to create a trusted language access partner—one that values quality, preparation, cultural understanding, and the dignity of every person we serve.
Today, this story extends far beyond me. Many members of our team have lived similar experiences and understand personally what it means to navigate systems in another language. That shared connection is at the heart of our work and is what makes our team so committed to making language access better for the communities and organizations we serve.
From One Language to 200+
What started as a Spanish-English interpreting service has grown into a full-spectrum language access company supporting over 200 languages — because the community kept asking, and we believed we could meet that need with the same care and quality we started with.
Today, E2S provides professional interpreting, translation, voiceover, and language access support to healthcare providers, legal professionals, community organizations, and conference organizers across Oregon and beyond. Every member of our team is chosen not only for their qualifications but for their commitment to communication that is accurate, respectful, and human.
What Drives Our Work
Community First
Language access is a right, not a privilege. We built E2S to serve the communities that need it most — and that mission guides every decision we make.
Quality Without Compromise
Our interpreters meet OHA qualifications for qualified and certified services. E2S holds State of Oregon COBID certification (#14291) as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), and Emerging Small Business (ESB), and we hold ourselves to that standard across everything we do.
Human Connection
Every interaction we support is a real conversation between real people. We approach that with care, cultural awareness, and the belief that how someone is heard matters as much as what is said.
Certifications & Memberships
E2S is certified by the State of Oregon's Certification Office for Business Inclusion and Diversity (COBID), Certification #14291, as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), and Emerging Small Business (ESB). We are also proud members of the organizations below.
